Background

Finch wants to build a platform to enhance the efficiency of the sales process through telephone communication. This will be utilized by the sales team to make offers to prospective customers. The platform is referred to as the "Parallel Dialer". A Parallel Dialer is software that enables multiple outbound calls to be made at the same time. It is ideal for sales teams who need to make many calls as it distributes them evenly among agents. The objective is to enhance productivity and efficiency in the sales process.

Approach

The approach is carried out by gathering information about the parallel dialer product or conducting research on platforms with similar functions. Subsequently, discussions are held with the sales team to align perceptions regarding the functions and purposes of the system to be developed. The system will be built for a desktop platform that adopts UI components from the Tailwind CSS Library. This is done to expedite and simplify the development process.

Challenge

The design of the Parallel Dialer SaaS product is quite complex in its planning. This is due to a significant number of components and features that are interconnected. Additionally, the design must prioritize the user experience aspect to ensure that users continue to find it easy and comfortable to use. The design of this Parallel SaaS is built using the Tailwind CSS Library, requiring the import of numerous libraries to ensure that components can be effectively utilized throughout the product design process.

Action

Design First Iteration

Designing the layout in the first iteration stage to provide a design overview and reporting it to the project manager and also the Finch Founder. In this first iteration, it was designed in the form of a wireframe and then progressed to the mid-fidelity prototype stage. However, this initial iteration was unsuccessful and didn't meet the client's expectations. As a result, a second iteration was carried out to delve deeper into the functions of the parallel dialer that align with the client's needs.

Research on Similar Products

Conducting research on competitor platforms with similar functions, namely the parallel dialer. Some competitor platforms that were examined are as follows:

The competitive analysis that has been conducted successfully provided a more in-depth understanding of the features and clear flow for the parallel call or dialing process.

Designing The MVP hi-fi Prototype.

Designing the Minimum Viable product (MVP) based on the conducted research. In addition to research, discussions were held with the sales team to align perceptions and understand the daily activities and workflow carried out by the sales team when using the current parallel dialer software. The design and prototyping process took one week to achieve a suitable prototype, with regular reporting to the Project Manager and the client. [Prototype]

Mantain and Iterate The Design

The designed MVP prototype will undergo continuous iterations and changes if any issues are identified. Moving forward, the product will also undergo ongoing iterations as needed, including the addition of features and integrations into the Parallel Dialer SaaS product.

Result

The product design for SaaS Parallel Dialer is complete and has entered the development stage by the Software Engineer. This product will be used by the sales team to facilitate reaching prospective customers through telephone calls.
